... scene hair worries!?

I'M WORRIED!

I have thick brown hair right below my shoulders, and

I'm getting my hair cut scene, right?

But my mom says that if I do lots of short layers at the top and longer ones at the bottom, it's gonna look like a mullet with killer side-fringe.

What's the best way to tell my hairstylist how to cut it? :(

... scene hair worries!?

dont listen to that first person.

even if you have generally straight hair, you have to straighten it for this style, it just wont work unless its really straight.

i have 3 layers in my hair. my hair is a little shorter than shoulder length. when you straigten it, use heat defense spray. when i first got my hair cut i FREAKED. i thought it looked like a mullet or a mushroom cut. but its really not that bad. its all in the styling. and it really doesnt look like a mullet at all, i was just freaking out. yeah so heres a really crappy styling video i made. it gets cut off at the end but yeah just add more spray and it will poof. you can try this now even though you dont have your hair cut in layers yet..

so basically, dont be worried. it will look great. its all in the styling. its not that great of a cut without styling it but once you master the styling it will only take like 10-15 minutes. depends . :D

oh yeah i dont have a side fringe, i asked for one and got bangs that go striaght in front of my forehead cut in almost like a V shape. but they look alright.

okay so give your hairstylist a picture and tell her you want a few choppy layers and a bit of a side fringe. give her a picture or two ..or more. lol.

and once again, dont be worried when you get the cut, you'll freak at once but play around while styling it, look up styles on youtube and have fun , it will turn out great

add more details if you have more questions and i'll check back later and add more to my answer if necessary. :]

That is NOT going to work out good. If you have a scene cut and curly hair you have to straighten your hair everyday, and the end of the short layers will get fryed to the max and it will look absolutely HORRIBLE.

... scene hair worries!?

take a pic.

... scene hair worries!?

it wont look like a mullet unless you leave it down.

you have to backcomb the top layers to make them stick out like this

then add lotssss of hairspray.

obviously your hair is shorter but you get the general idea

i got my hair cut the other day and i just told my hairdresser exactly what i wanted.

which was "choppy layers at the back and choppy fringe around my face

this is what mine turned out like
