Question about scene hair?

I was wondering how many layers do you need for scene hair? I know you need alot but can anyone guess roughly how many? Do you need a special kind of comb to tease your hair? Also (lol) how do you tease your hair? I kinda know, but I jsut want to make sure Im doing it right. Sorry for all of the questions, but I want to know if Im should get the hairstyle.

how to tease: comb hair backwards and then spray it.. then back-comb again and then spray it xD

you need a mullet/ a top, short layer on the top, the bottom, a long layer. keep it choppy, I don't think you can have too many layers ;)

there are teasing combs, but for jeasus christ, it doesn't matter. some people on youtube.com use a freaken brush xD all combs will work, i don't know the big deal about using a teasing comb. it may temperarly damage your hair or something.. further than that, I don't know but make the top layer puffy %26amp; straighten the bottom

Try choppy layers. It'll make your hair look more volumized. When you tease your hair, which i dont recommend doing, you take a comb and brush your hair backwards while using hairspray.

What I did was I used a razor blade and did a bunch of layers %26amp; you use hair spray and rub your hair a lot so it looks like it has a lot of volume

Im Sorry but i you cannot answer These questions by yourself, DOnt get a Scene Cut.

1) You Can Have Many Layers (theres no exact Number) 5, 6, 7, 8.

2) Yeah You Need a Special Comb. Teasing hair Takes over 1 Hour.

Thats a VERY short way Of Teasing, I usally takes a little more than an Hour.

Teasing takes 5-15 minutes. For layers you have lots of it! The comb that you want to tease your hair in is called a rattail comb. To tease your hair you take a comb and backcomb your hair and spray hairspray. What i do is spray the sections i want first let it dry then tease it.

you could put some bangs in the front of your head, or side bangs, and like wear it down with a braid on one side, Spikes wouldn`t look all that great for a hair style unless it was for a special ocassion or something.

If it`s long hair you got a lot of possibliites, like wear it all down and put 2 braids in the front. Or wear it down with bangs in the front, that would look cute!

Hat`s are another option.

side part your hair do bangs that sweep across your face you don`t really have to cut it just a little trim so the front sweeps under your face. if its curly straighten it of course. die it real black n get blue highlights. i don`t know if thats good 4 emo people because i don`t really know the style but it would look cool .

Well here are some pics of my hair.

even tho you cant really see the back, the back is just layered. its nothing extravagant in the back, because i put it in a ponytail sometimes.

i use the studio line product from l'oreal paris. works great. and also herbal essence pin straight hair spray.

ok i have long really curly hair, it's gets all poofy and frizzy at times. I straighten it some times but i cant every day cause if you have curly hair you know it kills the hair and takes 5 hours just to do one side!!!! i wanted a scene hair style. and also i want to dye me hair to where it will look good curly and straight. for get straightening it. i also have curly hair. to stop it from frizzing put anti-frizz leave in cream (active is the best brand) after you wash it and sleep with your hair loose. it will be messy but look fab.

This is what my daughter's opinion is and she calls herself a "scene professional"

Her friends do pink to the underside of their bangs and she thinks its pretty cute. And she says you'd look good with pink streak bangs too, because your pretty just as you are.

But i think redish pink streaks would be awesome but can be a bit risky depending on what shade and how much you want of it.

If you dont want to go as risky then go with a darker brown witch should look pretty sweet. Only do streaks or high lights.

Ohh and also I think you should keep the bangs the shortness/ longnest they are they are perfect. But try considering to grow.. your hair a little bit longer it would be awesomee .

"Scene" hair actually looks best when it's drastic. That's what makes it look awesome and eye-catching.

But yes, you'll need some choppy layers, and it looks best when there are really short layers on top and longer layers on the bottom. Make sure to leave long bangs to sweep to one side - long enough to pin with a barrette. And make a side part that's far from the middle.

And you'll need tons of hairspray/gel/hair glue and a straightening iron. Not to mention an extra 45 minutes to get ready when you go out.

Okay heres the dealeoooo =]

I love EVERYTHING about this scene stuff. The prroblem is. i don't know if i could handle keeping it that way because all i think of is my future career etc.. What would they think etc.. Not just that but i have REALLY wavy hair. As soon as it gets wet it goes gross. I also hate blow drying hair or even standing there trying to style it. etc if that makes sense (?) Everytime i try to get it cut like a scene haircut. It looks AWESOME when its cut but i cant seem to get it to go back to how it was. Not just that but how can i be scene etc when im REALLY overweight.. as you can see they dont make heartcore clothing etc for plus size girls. So any ideas? im into chux, jeans, black jackets with hoodies %26amp; t-shirts. But i dont wanna look goth or emo. Maybe coloured clothing but still scene. if any of this is makign sense can someone help me please? Because i love the look i just need some help tryign to figure out how to do it exactly.

ahahaha go to concerts and ask around for hair ideas, dont be poser scene because thats pretty re re, but since you want to know the fashion all i can tell you id buy brightly colored shirts or shirts with you favorite band or snotty saying (see hottopic...) brown is a no no in my experience so are ugly shades of green and dark grey or mustard colors. however the pants may be a problem because you are larger than a size 0....aren't we all... dont try and squeeze yourself into a pair of skinny jeans that are three sizes too small like some kids, find a jean that flatters your shape STAY AWAY FROM SKINNYS, a good color would be a dark greyish blue or just a grey color, at concerts i see some acid wash actually coming back (eww) I would say shop at places like urban behavior (for jeans) and hot topic because they accommodate everyone. as for the hair you HAVE TO get it layered, get it razored down (to make it choppy) and STRAIGHTEN IT, then just use a thin layer serum to keep it straight.

The only way to achieve a "scene" hair-style is to actually spend forever styling it. You will need to straighten your hair, volumize it, and put tons of hair products to keep it the way scene girls keep their hair. I know a not of scenesters, and believe me, this is the only way. If this, alone, is too high maintenance for you, I don't think there is any way you can truly fit into the style.

As for the clothes... There's this place called Torrid that's similar to Hot Topic, but for heavy girls. I recommend trying there.

Apart from the scene look... I think a style that's really cute on heavy girls is the Rockabilly look. I've seen a lot of heavy girls pull this off really well, and it's a lot less maintenance.

There are a lot of places with clothing for overweight girls out there. You just gotta look. You could try looking in catalogs, online, the mall. Anywhere really. And to get the more scene look try putting little plastic bows and clips in your hair, wear dramatic smokey eye make-up, and don't just wear black -- wear like colorful checkered jackets or something like that. Don't be scared to add something else you like to the look because that's what makes it your own look, %26amp;%26amp; for your hair problem, get it layered a lot in choppy layers and maybe thinned out. If it's already thin it shouldn't be a problem to like straighten it. And using products and hairspray should keep it in the style you like most. Hope i helped a little bit. GOOD LUCK!(:

I suggest you to to a hairdresser get your hair "layered." The hairdresser will use scissors. This will make your hair uneven and puffier.

Also, use wax to make it bigger.

Umm I know what you mean by scene and though I don't have the time to look up pictures...you can just google (images) scene haircuts. I believe emo haircuts wil also give you similar but even more results.

But anyways umm the one I'm most familiar is for boys is to keep it short and choppy in the back (not buzzed but like 2-4 inches long) or atleast shorter than your bangs)

As for your bangs and front side just tell your hairstylist you want it to swoop across your forehead but on the side you swoop to keep it long so that it runs down your cheek and covers it....whether you get it cut to cover your ears or not is up to you.

ok definetly get short layers since you will have to tease or back comb it to get the desired "scene" hair. once you have the layers after straightening and everything take sections of the top shortest layer and spray some root lifting or volumizing hairspray on it then tease it. comb it down a little if you have to.

alright. this hairstyle could be considered "scene", but wont make you look like a poser. its a nice compromise. if you can convince your mom (which shouldnt be too hard, b/c its not that wild), just print it out and take it to the hairstylist. its not a drastic change, but it will add a lot of edginess to your Dora-do! if you want it to look a little "scene-er", get some styling wax and make it piecey and messy. hope this helps, and good luck!

What I would do is start small, nothing too drastic. What i would do : start with just bangs.

Take your straight bangs and twist them up from your forehead. then, using scissors, cut into the ends in a jagged way, almost cutting small zig zags into them. When you let your bangs down they will be funky and jagged and look messy, and you can use a little texturizer to make them look a little spiky in front. Push them to the side, foof them back, whatever you think looks good on you. A few weeks later, bleach your bangs and add some temp color to them after a few more weeks.

After a while, cut the bottom of your hair in slight layers, and go for the overall slightly tousled messy look with some mousse. Later, bleach the bottom of your hair only and then dip it in dye. Little by little people will get used to you looking a certain new way, so its nothing too major overnight. Hope this helps, good luck!

haha dont listen to the other ppl on this thing. im in 7th grade and i have scene hair. just do it all at once thats the way i did it in 6th grade and i did it by my self. sure your parents will get mad at you for the first week but its worth it for scene hair. and it always helps to get some one to help you cut it. just wash and towel dry your hair. then brush it out and cut side bangs. i use my razor for shaving. and then just run a pair of scisiors through your hair about 3 inch section. then just take about a hour and find the different styles you can make with your new hair. email me for any question at mychemicallover72@gmail.com and please dont send me any junk mail.

well you could always brush it backwards and make it a bit poofy, it will look a bit more thick that way, but don't go too crazy or you will look like ur from the 80's. you could always tell ur hair stylist to give you sum layers, that will make ur hair look more thick also. or you could just go and get a scene haircut. here are sum pictures.

You would look really good with that style. You're really good looking and have really good bone structure, so I think any style would look good on you. I'd advise you against the super-heavy eye make up, because it tends to make blue eyes appear tired.

Also: if you get short top layers like the girl in the picture, be prepared to style your hair every day, or it might end up looking like a mullet.

I think it would look great! However, to make ot look drastically diffrent from what you have, I would cut off some length. A slight a-line (does not have to be short, just angled w/ shorter length in back, longer in front) w/ an a-symmetrical front (one side a bit longer than the other...) Definatley DO NOT go dark if you are naturally blone or have light hair...your hair will never be the same!

Dakota Rose is also great Hair inspo! Leopard pattern is done with celery dipped into a dark hair dye, and looks super cool, you have to have your hair super straight while you're doing it, but when it's washed it looks great.

I would recommend the cut I currently have, its really fun and I guess it could be classified as scene-ish. I have sweepy bangs and the front is straight and comes down around mid neck. The back is spiked and curlyish. I use Garnier Fructis "bold it" to style the back and a touch of hairspray. Streaks of color look really good with this cut. I currently have a pink streak but it's been turqouise and purple before and all of them really add to the look.

anyways, if you don't want extensions then just grow it out, get short layers on the top and a side fringe, or a long blunt fringe. and dye is as you wish to. straighten it all out or just the bangs and voi-la ! =]] oh, and always keep it moisturized or else your hair will look like the end of a broom. good luck %26lt;3

the best thing to use to get your hair to stay up is hair powder. put the powder on the roots, and then tease it with a very fine tooth comb. it sounds like your hair is too soft--anyway, usually scene hair has been processed so many times that the hair is dried out and the hair shaft is really rough. thats why the hair always looks so ratty. so when you wash your hair, do not use any type of conditioner, to get your hair to be dry and puffy. then put the powder on, and backcomb. finish with some hairspray.

DO NOT GET SCENE HAIR. it's a pain the butt to style and it takes forever to grow out when you don't like it anymore. trust me from personal expirence. you have to pretty much carry a can of hairsrpay with you everywhere.

Also, since the layers are so short, when you where it normal, it looks horrible and choppy.

What defines scene hair?

1) Volume - whether this be by backcombing hair (brush hair upwards from tip to root), adding lots of volumising hair spray and gel, or adding a layer of hair extensions underneath. (clip ins are easy for this)

2) Colour - Dye hair, or add coloured streaks and extensions. Add stripes (a.k.a. 'coon tails') for added effect.

okay i have what you would call a scene haircut too...

in my opinion the best things to do are a number of things.

first when you get out of the shower....blow dry your hair upside down...and then make sure that you tease it alot....like hold up those short layers at the back of your head and take a comb to them...brushing fastly in a down direction towards your head...

dont forget to put some sorts of products in it...such as hairspray or any hair glues you might use.

i dont know if you have naturally straight or curly hair but a straightener would be a good thing to invest in because it helps with the poof thing...if you take the short layers and straighten them pulling them up and towards your face like bangs...it helps to pin the hair in that direction.

the object of a scene hair cut is that everythign is straight and down except for the 'poof' at the crown of the head...so ameks ure everything is straight and down and then use your hands to poof the crap out of those layers....i wish i could tell you that they will stay 'poofed' for however long you wanted them too but thats just not the case...they recquire several poofings done with hands throughout the day....

you can also use straighteners to make a slight bend in your hair which will make it stand up more.

They should start from about two inches down from you head and shoul start another layer about very 2 inces

I would just go to some stylalist to get it done... Like, you find a picture online or in a magazine and tell them that "you want like this but..." And tell them any changes you would want.

BUT,

To get that hair, what you do is get is really layered. And kinda short, around shoulders or shorter. You've already got the bangs :D

Then on the bottom or top layer you put a color, like red or blue or green. Whichever one you like most. I would go with blue or red. If you get green, you've gotta get it REAL bright or when it starts to fade it will look like crap.

Well, it sounds like your hair's already short. Hate to break it to you, but it won't help to cut it unless you grow it out longer first. Wait till it's past your earlobes, then cut it yourself. Scene hair is supposed to be angular, choppy, spikey, puffy, and weird in general. So if it doesn't turn out exactly how you pictured, so what? It'll be non-mainstream, and that's what matters.

I'm planning on getting a scene haircut, but i have a cowlick kind of at my forehead. I know that with scene haircuts the bangs come from further back, so I'm hoping my cowlick wont affect them. Is is hard to keep scene hair in place with a bang cowlick?

Use straightening product and a flat iron. Iron the hell out of that cowlick. I have a tight curl at the frontish part of my bangs that makes a wave just like an S. It's horrible, but by slowly running and iron over it, it comes out smooth.

even tho you cant really see the back, the back is just layered. its nothing extravagant in the back, because i put it in a ponytail sometimes.

i use the studio line product from l'oreal paris. works great. and also herbal essence pin straight hair spray.

get your hair cut with layers, and get the hair dresser to use a razor, razor cutting creates a more uneven look, and then get some styling product, like pantene pro v texturizer...use that and fluff your hair up...it works great, and will create a fuller, chunky, messy look.

Before you pick any colors you have to make sure that they go with your skin tone... every skin tone has a season, and if you go against it you will look either washed out or crazy glow-y, and you don't want that.

Or you could always bleach the parts that you want colored...and then put any color you want on it...the only way to get dark hair to pink, blue, purple...or any other color is to bleach first, so I would go with the clip ins...so you don't damage your hair.

well what I would do is go on Photobucket and look up "scene hair" or something like that, then add like, maybe 5 or 10 of you faveorite into your album, then look at the hair STYLE first and see what would look best for your face type and possibly ask some friends or family to see what they think. then after you find the style you want then think about what color streaks you want, i would go for black or dark purple.
