Scene hair in summer?

okay so i'm basically a emo/scene girl with a touch of harajuku style.

but for the summer i'm just kinda taking it easy cuz it's really hot where i live %26amp; i spend a lot of time outside because of my job.

i dyed my hair back to it's natural brown (*tears*) %26amp; am letting it grow out a little for the summer. my hair is naturally kinda curly/wavy too, so i usually straighten it all over, but in this heat it WON"T stay straight, so i've given up on that. i

how can i make it still look scene/go with my scene-style clothes if it's not dyed various colors %26amp; teased %26amp; flat ironed? i'm growing it out for fall (like almost to my waist), so i do NOT want to cut it! what kind of up-do's still look scene? (i've never really seen any?)

only serious answers please, don't give me any crap about "don't try to fit in with a scene!/why do you want to look like that?/be yourself!" etc. i'm not emo %26amp; i'm not a conformist, this is my style %26amp; i'm trying to figure out how to make it work for the summer time

i usually put my hair in pigtails.

not in the air pigtails like on your sholder ones, like low resting on your sholder. but yea, then to change it up i braid them. but i still use my hair straightner a little., to get the pooffy parts. Report It

First, play up your makeup. It will take some of the attention off of your hair.

Use clips/bobby pins with a regular ponytail. It won't look super scene... But there's not a whole lot you can do, unfortunately.

Sweep your hair up into a regular pony, and do a poof on the top.

So we all know the faux hawk in girls is in, but myself, I've been doing something different, my hair is all one color, and it's really nice. This updo isn't that hard to do, and if your hair is wavy, you don't have to do a whole lot to it. :)

You need a few hair ties, and a few bobby pins.

-Anything in front of the ear, secure so it doesent obstruct your vision, and doesn't get in the way of the back.

-Right below the part you have, secure another section of it in a hairtie that matches your hair color.

-Do that a few more times so anything under it is smooth...

-The last hair tie you use should be right at the nape of your neck.

---Don't worry about the hair ties, thet'll be mostly covered up when you're finished.

Now the back of your head should look kind of like it's in a faux hawk. (Trust me, it'll look cute when you're finished if you do it RIGHT!)

Now, onto the front of your hair. :) Everything in front of your ear should be separate from the rest.

Part it at both widow's peaks, and set it aside. Secre the middle section, we'll fix that later.

Take the two sections you set aside right above the ear and cross them over each other, securing them to the ponytail holder right at the part. make sure it's smooth! Don't let there be any bumps in it.

Once that is secure to the ponytail holder, move on to the middle section. With this section, make a pouf. (Yeah, it's overdone, but it looks good with this hairstyle, trust me.)

Secure the pouf to the sections of hair you pinned to your hair tie.... now tease the back of it, use some aerosol hairspray to get all the volume you can to your fauxhawk you have in the back. :)

It looks good with big chunky earrings...

It might not be that easy to understand, but from the front it should look something like this from the front. I don't have enough time or patience to show you what it looks like from the side. Keep in touch with me, and I'll send you a picture of me IN the style some time whenever.... :D

As far as I know this is something new, so try it out, and be the first one in your town to do it. It's nice. :D

You will need: thickening shampoo, a towel, a brush, strong hold spray (or gel for short hair), a bold, bright hair accessory or clip from somewhere like Hot Topic or LoveBites and Bruises.

1 - use thickening shampoo

2 - roughly towel dry or leave to dry naturally

3 - when dry, tip head upsidedown, brush hair from tip to root (backbrush) in areas you want to look poofty.

4 - before lifting your head back up, generously spray with holding spray or run gel through it, allow it to dry for a moment.

5 - lift head up, use styling gel or wax to work hair to suit your style/face shape.

6. add a cute acessory e.g. a clip, bow or head band from Hot Topic or LoveBites and Bruises.

Note - this is bad for your hair, as it makes it brittle, and therefore it breaks easily, so don't do it all the time. :)
